Life is moving and Alex is a rock star!

Now that I'm back to work, time is FLYING by. It has been a month already and Alex will be four months old soon. That also means my man is leaving in 4 months and I won't see him for 6 months or maybe even more :*( Hopefully time kinda slows down while he's here, then goes into turbo speed once he's gone.

I suppose work has gotten better. My co-teacher has stopped walking away from me when I talk to her! But she still isn't helping out with the classroom, so I'm just continuing to get everything together ... slowly but surely. The kids don't really need her to translate much now and since she never really did it much in the beginning, the kids are used to her disconnection from everything and I'm okay with that. It means they'll like me more (and they do hehe).

Being a white mother in Korea is pretty great. My baby is a total rock star whenever we go out. Everyone who sees him, stops and says "Eh-bu-da" or whatever it is in Korean, which means "beautiful." We literally can't go anywhere without someone commenting on how gorgeous he is.

Finding baby stuff here is a huge challenge. Buying normal stuff in a brand new state is from Korean stores means that you're paying 3 times the price you would back home. I'm happy I still have access to stuff on the military base, otherwise we'd be in a worse off situation. We can also have stuff shipped here from back home, with the same shipping costs we'd pay if it was shipped in North America. Once my lover leaves, though, he'll have to buy stuff and send it to me. We're going to try to get all his clothes, toys, etc. before he goes so that I won't have to worry about it. Other things, like the prenatal vitamins, potent vitamin C, omega-3 pills, and Orajel (for when Alex teethes) are also triple the price or impossible to find. We've gotta stock up on that stuff as well.

Not having a proper bath tub is also going to pose another obstacle. Alex currently can use the baby tub with no problem, but when he's bigger I think it won't be as good. I've seen the big ones that you can buy and adults can fit in them. I just don't know where to get one or where the hell I'd put it. This apartment is TINY and we're already hurting for space as it is.

Alex is going to start going to daycare Monday, Wednesday, Friday and his babysitter will come Tuesday, Thursday. We need someone to clean the apartment because we spend our entire weekend cleaning and it's getting really annoying. So his babysitter will do it when she's here. We'll see how that goes. If it doesn't work, we'll have to hire a Philipina lady to come and clean. We're still trying to figure out how to make everything work, since I'm working half the day and breast feeding the other half of the day!

Not having a dryer has been okay, since we do use the one on Base. But once my lover is gone, I'm screwed for that. I won't have anything except the clothes racks. That'll be fun. I think life is going to be really interesting once August 18th rolls around. I am not looking forward to being the only caregiver for an 8 month old baby and working part time. I'm very happy that I'm getting this done now because in 4 months, Alex will be more of a handful and I'll have to do it all alone. AAAAAAAAH!!!

Hopefully next weekend will be better now that I'll have someone else doing the housework. Perhaps we'll get out!!
